Nordkapp - the Third Extreme

I'm here! I've done it! I've reached the third of the extremes! WooHoo!

I arrived at Nordkapp late yesterday afternoon after a fairly leisurely ride up through Finalnd then the final section through Norway. Storms were brewing, as can be seen in some of the photos, and as I didn't want to get stuck out there in storms, it was a fairly brief, hyet very expensive, visit. NOK 235 [using euros, it cost me €33], to get in the gate. That's a little over A$50!!! Just to get in the gate, and, of course, everything inside is astronomically expensive - if one is silly enough to buy it. I'd bought my stickers back down at the service station where I got fuel, much cheaper.

Below: a beautiful view riding through southern Norway. Mountains, and snow, and COLD! Wonderful!!

Above and Below: Smoking/cooking salmon for the masses, at a major road junction in Norway. I refrained, due to enormous queues patiently waiting.

Below: The guardian.

There was glorious scenery everywhere, some of which is National Park.

Below: Stupid sheep are the same the world over. Here, you can just see a lamb, sprawled in the middle of the road, resting! No way was it going to move for any of the traffic, they all had to go around it.

Below: I stopped and waited, engine running, for these reindeer to walk past me. They just kept on plodding slowly along the road, although the front one did break into a trot when he got beside the bike, but only for a dozen or so paces, till he was "safe".

Below: Can you see the tiny tunnel mouth, on the right, centre? It was miles long, and very cold riding through it.

Below: In the town of Honningsvag, I needed to get fuel before going out to Nordkapp itself. This group of Ukrainian bikers, all riding 3 GoldWings, descended upon me, quite entralled that I had ridden there all by myself, from Australia!

Below: On the way out to Nordkapp.

Below: I was parked beside this little bike.

Below: For some unknown reason, all the photos I took inside the building came out very blurry. Oh well! Trolls area big thing around here, apparently.

Below: Just to prove I actually made it!

Below: Another photo of a photo, showing a better view of the whole of the North Cape area, with, from the left, the entrance gates, the car parks, the main buildings, and on the far right, you can just see the marker itself near the cliff edge.
